Description of the Event: The Huron County Master Gardeners are inviting you to their 13th annual Spring Into Gardening Conference and Yard & Garden Expo on Saturday, March 28, from 8:00 - 4:00 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1038 S. Van Dyke (M-53), Bad Axe.

The conference’s sessions include Stacey Hirvela of Spring Meadows Nursery, who will share how to “Prune Like a Pro” on almost any plant and “Demystifying Hydrangeas” so you can have the most beautiful hydrangeas blooming in your yard. Tom Conklin and Joyce Latta from Walnut Hill Farm will share their expertise on growing hardy roses with herbs in Michigan. For those of us who know there are more things growing in our yards besides the flowers and vegetables, Elly Maxwell of Dow Gardens will provide us with her perspective on “A Balanced Backyard” -- letting us know why and how insects are the backbone of our yards. She will also cover birds to bees to butterflies with “Pollinator Gardens.”

Participants will also receive free admission to the Yard & Garden Expo. Vendors will be displaying plants, ironworks, garden art, books and other products designed to escalate their garden fever!
