Description of the Event: Enjoy Cooking? Want to learn new techniques from a pro?
We will begin our Farm to Table adventure at the Howell Farmer's Market by gathering on the courthouse lawn at 10:00am. Renee Chodkowski will guide our group through the market to the best picks of produce and we will learn tips from the farmers while we make great produce choices.
Around 11:00am will will head over to the kitchen at the MSU Extension building where Renee will demonstrate the preparation of a delicious meal for all of us using all of our market picks and goodies she will provide. She will prepare an awesome appetizer, salad, main entree and of course a scrumptious dessert! The event will probably end around 1:30 - 2:00pm.
The cost to attend this event is $45.00 which includes all ingredients, the prep & cooking demonstration by Renee, recipe handouts & loads of fun!

Renee Chodowski – The Great Foodini!
Renee has been teaching highly entertaining enrichment cooking classes for over 28 years. In her class you will learn little known tips and tricks for ingredients, techniques and using everyday cooking utensils to make your time in the kitchen efficient, affordable and delicious.
Renee was a finalist on ABC’s Good Morning America, in the Pie of Emeril’s Eye Thanksgiving Pie contest, from entries totaling over 750,000. Her ‘My Oh My Sweet Potato Pie’ wowed the judges and was featured all week – what a fun way to celebrate her 15 minutes of fame! Renee was also a contestant on the Master Chef television show on Fox with Gordon Ramsay and was also a featured contestant with honorable mention on the Kraft Real Women of Philadelphia Cream Cheese cooking contest with Paula Deen. Renee has appeared on Fox2 Detroit in numerous cooking segments and currently you can hear Renee every Friday morning on Livingston County’s Own 93.5, WHMI radio station on her Foodini Friday show and also on Wednesday mornings with Great Foodini’s Food Facts and Hacks for Your Healthy Self! For the past two years, Renee has been a judge for the Gleaners Iron Chef Competition, one of the biggest annual fundraising opportunities for this valuable organization.
In 2012, Renee was selected by Red Gold Tomatoes as one of the top 7 food writers/bloggers in the country and flew her to Indianapolis for the 2012 Superbowl Festivities including the renown nationwide food bank fundraiser, Taste of the NFL where she rubbed elbows with some of the most famous chefs in the country including Ted Allen of Food Network, Buddy, Mauro and Joey of Cake Boss and other celebrities.
Renee’s newest venture has been the launch of her website and food blog at www.greatfoodini.com which shares recipes, food stories, and teaches what you need to know to create food in your kitchen and 'make it your own'.
