Location : Paw Paw Prairie Fen Preserve
Description of the Event: Join us as we work to restore the prairie in this unique preserve. We will be removing invasive plants, with plans to collect native seeds and plant in the upland prairie on future work days. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to visit the fen, part of the preserve not often seen by visitors.
DIRECTIONS:
From Kalamazoo, MI: Take exit 66 off of I-94 and travel south on CR 652/24th St./S. Main.
Turn left (east) on 64th Ave. and travel to 22nd St./Van Kal Ave.
Turn right (south) on 22nd St./Van Kal Ave. Travel approximately 1 mile.
The preserve parking lot and entrance is on the right (west).
OTHER:
Dress in comfortable clothing and wear hiking or walking shoes. Due to deer flies and mosquitoes, we recommend long sleeves and pants as well as a hat.
A light snack and beverage will be provided, but please bring your own lunch and water.

We will host additional work days on September 17 and October 15 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. as we work to restore the upland prairie.
