Aquatic Invasive Species Awareness Week

Got a minute? During this year’s Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Awareness Week, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality encourages you to watch this video and learn how to identify Yellow Floating Heart, an invasive aquatic plant.

The most likely source of yellow floating heart is water gardening. Retailers and hobbyist may not know it is prohibited and offer it for sale or trade. Early detection of Yellow Floating Heart is critical--so if you think you found it, tell us!

You can help reduce the spread of invasive species! Check out www.michigan.gov/invasivesto learn more about invasive species related to Michigan. Also join the conversation on social media by using #notMIspecies.
