Description of the Event: Community Garden Education Collaborative
Midland County Master Gardeners has a program called the Community Garden Education Collaborative (CGEC). The collaborative part is between the Midland County Master Gardener Association, Evergreen Garden Club, Creative360, and the City of Midland. We have one session per month, an hour and a half long. The first 45 minutes is a presentation on specific gardening subject (organic, mostly vegetable/herb related), and the rest is a question/answer discussion with master gardeners attending to facilitate. Attending MSUE Master Gardeners will receive .75 hours education, and .75 hours volunteer if they stay for the entire presentation and the discussion. MCTV will video these presentations, and upload them to YouTube. These programs are FREE to the public! Please pre-register at www.becreative360.org or call 989-837-1885.

Head Start to Michigan Gardening
Dan and Marcia Draves will cover seed starting at home & what you need to be successful.
Dan is an MSUE Master Gardener, and they have had a popular home business growing and selling vegetable plants. Blue Dingman will also share a method or two that she has had success with!

Tuesday March 17:
Planting by the Moon/How to Plant According to the Moon Phases
We will learn the basics of an age old way of planting. How does moonlight indicate gravitational pull and the effect on soil moisture? How can we use this information to improve our health and crop yield?

Tuesday April 21:
The Joy and Benefits of Creating and Keeping a Garden Journal
We all keep notes. On scrap paper, in notebooks, in our head. How can we keep the correct notes in a productive way? Bullet Journaling and Garden Diaries will be discussed. Join us for ideas to accomplish successful journaling and share your own ideas!

Getting Kids Into The Garden
Exploring ideas to get our next generation of gardeners interested and involved in gardening.

Tuesday June 16:
Herbs 101
Learn the basics about growing, harvesting, using, and preserving herbs. 

Tuesday July 21:
Ask The Gardeners Round Table Session
Bring your questions, and your answers, and some of your harvest for a potluck of sharing!

Tuesday August 18:
Harvesting, Using, Preserving
Interactive Presentation! Bring some things from your own garden. We’ll talk about different ways to prepare your bounty, based on what is brought in!

Tuesday September 15:
Urban Gardening
Our City Horticulturist, Stephanie Richardson, will share insights into gardening in an urban setting.

Tuesday October 20:
What is Permaculture?
Will Raab with the Midland Association of Permaculture / Presentation to be announced
