This portion will be presented in person at the Ingham County Fairgrounds Community Hall
and will include a plant walk at Rayner Park (next to the fairgrounds) in Mason, MI
Put your skills to the test and join MSU Extension Horticulture Educator, Isabel Branstrom, for some interactive plant identification. We will focus on identifying common trees in Michigan using their bark, buds and twigs. Each participant will receive a copy of “Winter Tree Finder: A Manual for Identifying Deciduous Trees in Winter." Please dress appropriately for the weather. Masks are required when indoors.
Scholarships (5) to cover the cost of the event are available to those with financial hardship. Applicants will be asked to write a short paragraph about why they should be awarded this scholarship and how they plan to use and share the information learned. Responses will be reviewed as they come in.
MSU Extension Master Gardener attendees will earn continuing education hours for attending this program.
